This is the second that I worked on in the training exercise. :3
For those who are wondering, I spent about 9 hours on either of them. Purely digital painting in photoshop, wee!

As with the Porco Rosso piece, I sampled the colors from the Mononoke palette and repainted the background with the style of the project that I've just joined on. :)

Many days Mononoke is my favorite Ghibli picture. I like how you didn't even have to put the kodama-tachi in--it stills feels like it fits the movie w/ the color and lighting.

The lighting and atmosphere are so beautiful... You should paint this way more often. The trees are ethereeal and yet earthy looking at once - a hard trick to pull off. Excellent stuff!
