Water Trail by Etoli Water Trail by Etoli
Aah, I'm very happy with this one. :3

It started out as a matte painting for the master scene in a 3d production I'm working on at school. . .but I thought it looked awefully boring as it was. It needed a story. . . and I just love Pandora and Káluh so much, I had the itch to try a go at painting them without the help of pencil lines. And straight digital painting is hard, I've found! At least, characters without lines were uncomfortable for me at first. I'm so attached to my pencil lines. :p

I was going for an old silk-canvas look with this, and I'm pretty happy with the overall look of it. I'd imagine that might be Pandora's older sister, carrying the water back from the well to water the flock. (what flock?) I haven't come up with a design for what Pandora shepherds yet, so let's pretend that the munchy critters are just out of the scene somewhere. ;)

Well, I have alot of ideas scribbled down for her, but I'm not sure if I'll load anything up until I write up something cohesive. I'd love to do a short sort of picture story for her, though. :D

Ah this really struck my eye! So beautiful. The serene setting, laughing dragon and enchanting forest/field!! I especially like how you have so many details, and where there is more of a blur (for eg. trees) you can hardly notice because it just fits in so well. I really love this piece. :+favlove:

This is amazing quality. I love it how Pandora and Kaluh are bein lazy bums while big sis does all the work! :D She doesn't even care that she does the work as they watch. I'm sure theys just takin a break but it still amuses me. Beautiful art though. Kaluh seems bigger than normal non? The studio idea is great! I would be awesome to see you up there with Ghibli and Dreamworks! I am liking you newest work.

Oh, that´s wonderful!

Tell me, do you plan to make a continuation? I always expected something would happened after Pandora opened the book. It seemed... well, honestly, by the time it took me to load, and all the looks, that it would have more than two friends sitting together to read.

Wow, excellent work! It has such a wonderful softness that really lends itself well to the look and feel of the piece. Pretty spiffy what you were able to pull out of those mattes.

I love how the trees in the back begin to fade out. The picture has a misty aura. I also love how the grass is not a completely green mass. It has some spots darker or lighter than others. So much detail. How much time did it take you to do this Etoli?
